week 3 production log

Week four some of our members were not present on the day we planned to film and we were running out of time to make our advert.  My team needed extra people to help our advert for it to be successful. My team ended up using some of our classmates that were not busy to help with our advert by being a character in my teams advert.

The first problem my team faced was that the location we planned to fill was full of people so we couldn’t film in the park we planned to. At the same time we knew we needed to film as fast as possible so we didn't give up just yet. There was another park that we went to not too far from the original one we planned on filming in. It was a really sunny day so it was good for the camera natural lighting as providing a light heart advert. The was a part while recording were the lighting was too bright that there were dark shadows which the camera failed to capture.  So in other words
the lighting was the only problem we had while we were recording. Other then that i think we didn't have much of a problem.

Week 2 Production log

My group had lost a member that was vital to our advert, as they couldn't help with our production any more. My team and I shared our idea to some people. We said our adverts will e about two young people having a food fight with just oranges in a canteen. The response to my teams idea was that it would seem like we were influencing kids to have a food fight which would be a terrible idea for an advert as it would our advert would be seen negatively.

We were facing a problem and so we need to change our idea a bit instead of having a food fight between two friends it would be a couple arguing. We also decided to change our location from canteen to a public park instead. we decided this because it was we wanted our target audience too feel engaged and like the other while also send a positive message that's why we had slightly change it.

Week 1 production

Our first week my team and I planned how our 30 second advert would be. Once my team and I had came up with our own story line we shared how our ideas on how our advert should be. After we listened to each others idea we came to a vote on whose idea we should go with.  Our team still came to a disagreement. We rethought our idea  and we went with Daniels' idea as it seemed child friendly. our team deiced the best place to run our advert would be in the school canteen. This was best idea we had at the time and so we went with it as had potential.

TV AD Forms

TV advert form - Realistic
Production/service - Malteasers
Primary target audience: Both genders from age 7 to 15, all social classes and races

This malteasers advert has two character that seem to be shown family related as they both look like twin sisters. The short 30-second advert takes place only in the kitchen and nowhere else in the advert.  The camera always cut short to the best and lucky moments of the advert to give a fast effective impact the audience so that it doesn't feel to slow paced.  The camera first starts with a long shot of the two female character of the advert. As soon as one of the females starts a conversation. The camera quickly changes from a long shot to a close of the female in quickly given back a replay. Clearly this advert was to state how it feels to prank someone you know and how some people feel don't even feel bad about it. This could be looked at as just a simple joke but   others watching could take it serially and hate the way female character with casual cloths pranked the female with a gown.

This advert was to show how good it feels to prank someone. It's gets the point across but I believe that most people wouldn't find it funny as it felt like very soft lighted hearted comedy for immature people to laugh at for kids. Of course this also creates some sort of entertainment for those who love childish pranks.  This advert also uses light colors to show the childish and light hearted comedy.

It can also prove how two people may look so alike but have total different personalities.  As it is shown in the advert the female with the gown has a mature personality. As she is the one who is taking care of the clothes and putting them in the watching machine. While the female with the casual clothes is just relaxing who has a care free personality. You can also hear just by the ton of voice that the female character with the gown has a mature persona to her then the other female character.

TV advert form - Animation
Production/service - MacDonald’s
Primary target audience: both gender age 6 to 40, social economic class all races

In this animation advert it starts as just a spy mission which can easily be referenced from 007 character along with some the animated character from the movie Madagascar. The advert also plays the plays the mission impossible sound track, which is another reference.  This advert was clearly aimed at kids to eat health food even though MacDonald’s doesn't have the best health food ever. In the advert you see all this animated health food, which looks so fresh, and make people imagining to taste it. This is a good way for more people to come take a look and what they have for people to eat.

This animated adverted uses colorful bright colors to make the food look even better attaining people to go and try out some healthy food they got. Even Macdonald doesn't have the healthiest food they food have to admit some devious ones even though they are unhealthy.  When the advert is just about to end you see that you could buy some of the Madagascar character as toys, Which will make kid audience want to buy the toys if the audience have watched the any of the Madagascar movies.

TV advert form- Anti realist
Production/ service - Snickers
Primary target audiences: both genders ages from 7 to 15 all social classes and all races

In

This advert is unrealistic and shows the impossible also holds comedy to it as well. I would say this advert was trying to make a parody have Asian movies, which has ninja and any sort of action in them.  At first the advert seems to be normal which set around the eddo period in China. Then you see these 4 people calming on roof tops and then jumping in mid air and 3 of them doing a complete 360 in the air, while gliding making a perfect landing on the roof top across the streets. This then leads to one of the character Cheung to eat and transform into a professional ninja. This can also be considered anti realist as the character Cheung landed and collapsed a roof and still was perfectly fine and was able to stand without even a scratch even though he landed on someone after.

This makes the audience want to audience targeted from 7 to 15 how you will be able to do the impossible with the product snickers if you buy it. This would be consider false advertising but it doesn't take it self seriously as it used an actor like Rowan Atkinson who also plays as bean always seems to play a comedian in every single source of media he is in. This advert could be considered anti realistic and at the same time a humorous as advert. As it was clearly trying to make the audience laugh while the actor rowan Atkinson fell from a great height and collapsed the roof.

TV advert form - talking heads
production/services -  Mr. muscles Primary
Target audiences: both genders ages from 20 to 65 and high and medium social class and all races

In this advert is a cleaning product of what Mr. muscles can do as a cleaning product. It doesn't go into too much detail but it gets the point across of what it can do is forward with the audiacen. Which mean that for an audience that doesn't want it time wasted then this would be one of those adverts. The advert also uses a character Mr. muscles like some kind of cleaning hero. I think this is a negative, as you wouldn’t see many people cleaning the whole house with cleaning product. This is aimed at adults and as such the hero mr muscles didn't feel needed along with the fact the he was completely animated.

The advert is also really colorful and shiny to get the point across that the product Mr. muscle is the best there is. The whole advert also seems like a comic book story, which really doesn't feet in with advert trying to sell a cleaning product. If the company wanted to sell something like action figures and was aimed at kids instead of adults then I could see this advert being better known and successful. I think that most mature audience, which is adult, wouldn't take it product that the company is trying to sell to seriously because of the persona it tries to give off. The only female character in the advert seems like a damsels in distress making the advert feel a whole lot worse then it already is.

TV advers form- series
production/services - Go compare
Target audience both genders ages from 18 to 50 class high to normal economic group and all races

This advert goes straight to the point by doing a musical of people in public singing about their product and what you should do. while the advert isn't very informative the song is very memorable meaning that audience will be likely to remember this advert. The advert does feel realistic as the advert seem normal at first with everyone relaxing in the coffee store. all of sudden a man comes out of no where and starts sing about go compare.

This makes for a random yet interesting advert which instantly catches the view. The singing on the other hand is horrible and I began to wonder who hired the man in a fancy suit to start singing. The people minding their own businesses also start to sing a long with the man making the audience think that go compare is something so amazing that no one should miss out on it. There are only overall three character in this advert two of them are for audience to relate to the characters. This is so that the audience can understand what go compare is which does feel lazy as I think they could have used an alternate way of telling the audience what go compare is and promote it some other way instead of the way they did.

TV advers form-  Documentary
production/services - Save the children
Target audience both genders ages from 14 to 80 class high to normal economic group primary audience white

This advert start off with the narrator just getting to the point saying "She is just a child" this creates a hard impact straight away with the audiance as they began to learn about the child in the advert. this makes the audience not only feel sorry for the child but also want to help them by donating at much money as possible. The narrator has a smooth and such emotionless voice that it didn't feel impactful enough. In the advert you see some children under the ages of anorexic and staring with sad looks on their face. At those points the camera also seems to do a close of the children's face. This makes the audience feel more guilty then they already are.  At some point in the advert you get to see the one child being fed properly with a smile on his face. This advert is trying to state that not every child needs to anorexic and depressed. the advert is trying to saying with the money you give to use you could make a huge difference in these children lives. This makes the audience with children even more impactful then others.  As some audience are parent they wouldn't want their children to suffer as the children in the advert do as such this can make them donate then most audiences.

Production/service - Sainburyes
Primary target audience: Both genders from age 7 to 80, all social classes and races

this advert couldn't make any thing clearer as it was trying to to say share your christmas with everyone there is no reason to negative around christmas time and how you should think and behave positively to situation. Thats what this advert tried to teach the audience. A good way of the making this clear was to show differently armies instead of fighting they spent christmas together and had a great time. The amount of people singing at the same it also mean to be over welling along with the people it shows how christmas can bring so many people together good times and bad. The advert started company dark and then later turned comply white background meaning almost like a pant sleight of a story to be written wear there is no anger no or negativity only peace. Thats what i think the white back ground was meant to represent in the advert and i think it did that well enough.

TV Advertising Technique

TV advert form - Celebrity endorsement
Production/service -  Clash of clans
Primary target audience: Both genders from ages 7 to 60,
all b to c normal social class and all races

The advert first starts of as just a completely animated advert with the clash of clans music theme playing in the background with a village completely being destroy.  Then the adverts switches to just live action with a man which was playing the game. The person holding the is shown to be none other then Liam Neeson and he makes a speech parody of one of his movies. This makes the audience laugh if they have ever watched the first movie taken as this advert is just a parody of that. By Liam Neeson being in an advert like clash of clan and being that funny of advert depending on your sense of humour then you might try out this game. As the audience might want to know what kind of reaction they would have if they were to play clash of clans. This advert only promote clash of clans but every movie that Liam Neeson as been in. If the audience haven't seen the movie taken which this advert is a parody then some of the audience won't find as funny. The game at the start was very colour and would make people check it out while the live action part of it was dark and grey to set the tone of atmosphere while Liam Neeson is given is speech of revenge.

TV AD Styles

TV advert form - Dramatic
Production/service - Barnado's Primary target audience: Both genders from ages 7 to 60, all b to c normal social class and all races

This is not only dramatic but also realistic as many people face these kinds of social problems. This felt realistic as people do get bullied and abused by their parents. This could have made her not do well in class and not being able to concentrate at school. This could have leaded her to being able to get the grades to get a decent job. After that she might have gone to doing heavy drug, as she felt depressed and useless after everything she has been through with her farther and school which is a big part of most kids lives. This might have lead her to be paranoid and make her feel like the whole world was look down at her as if she is some kind trash that needs to thrown away and be forgotten about.  This could lead her to attacking an innocent person on the streets and soon after getting arrested and put into jail.

All of these sequences of her life are suppose to make the audience feel depressed and emotional and sorry for her in what she has been through. This was clearly to show what happened to a child in past can really effect how they are in the future. This can also make for parents and people of the situation. This is because not every child can solve on their own problem and need help. This is what this advert was for a cry out for those people suffering from abuse and such. You could see from all her face expression she felt scared and didn't really know what to do. This advert also uses dark colors in the background to show how this advert is serious on its case to help children that suffer from abuse and bullying.

TV advert form - surreal
Production/services - dairy milk
Primary target audiences - both genders ages 7 to 20 economic class c and b and all races

This advert is just shows an ape playing drums and nothing else. It doesn't even relate to the product what so ever in my personal option. It kind of makes you think what the director for this advert was thinking when making this advert. While over 6 million people watch this there was no point what so ever made. But is advert trying to state that if you were to buy and eat a diary milk that you would be just as talented the ape playing drums.  That is really all i could get out of it. Along with the fact the this advert is set in a room just filled with purple trying so in a way it's trying make the audience remember when ever you see the color purple you always remember the abnormal advert of diary milk and congress buying the chocolate. The music in the back ground is also very memorable as a result of being such an abnormal advert it one those adverts what you just can't forget about even if a year or two goes by.

TV advert form - Humorous
Production/services - Pesi
Primary target audiences - both genders ages 7 to 28 economic class c and b and all races

This advert has no talking init what so ever instead it diegetic music playing throughout in the background. This is really rare to see in an advert which does create some source of originality. one things I didn't like about was how it seemed liked it making fun of the religeon buddha as making a stereotype of them training in material arts and such.  The scenery in the movie is great for 1 minute advert as keep changing the setting almost looking like an eastern location like some sort of temple for buddha only to meditate in. You see this boy who is the main focus of the advert as just a normal child and gets taken in by the buddha and his head gets shaved. You also see the boy learn some material arts. You see the boy later then grown as a young man and it seems that he has learned to fit in and the buddha also seems to accept him as their own.  then he the buddha all holding a can of peso and all drink it at the same time.  at the very end you see the main character of the advert head butt the can leaving a mark on his head and all the other buddha truly accept him as one of them. now just from that alone i felt like it was trying to be funny but at the some times some people could find this very offensive as just an advert. The advert also tries to be colour yet very seems sort of grey making seem as if the advert is set in the past.
